Partnerships /Tourism Boards

Travel Content Creator for Tourism Boards

I make destination campaigns for tourism boards and visitors bureaus: I visit, then publish a blog article with my own photos, Instagram reels and posts, and Pinterest pins. I have done this for five destinations in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Carson City during the Fall

What a destination campaign is

I visit the destination, photograph the places on the itinerary, and write them up as a guide a traveler can follow: where to stay, where to eat, what to hike and what to see.

The article stays published on my site with a link back to the destination, so it keeps appearing in search after the social posts have run. Google indexes it, and AI search tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity can read and cite it.

What a tourism campaign includes

Most destination campaigns combine an article with social posts. At my published rates, one article, one reel, one static post and two stories start at $2,800 with a 500-word article and $3,400 with a 1,000-word article, before licensing.

  • A blog article of 500, 800 or 1,000 words, with 5 to 10 of my photographs and the same number of Pinterest pins
  • An Instagram reel, a static post or carousel, and stories from the visit
  • Photos and video the destination can use on its own channels, licensed for 12 months

Common questions

What do you deliver for a tourism board?
An itinerary article on my blog with my own photographs, Instagram content from the visit (a reel, a static post or carousel, and stories), and Pinterest pins that link to the article. Photos and video for the destination's own channels can be added.
How much does a destination campaign cost?
One article, one reel, one static post and two stories start at $2,800 with a 500-word article, before licensing. Each part can also be booked on its own: an article from $950, a reel from $1,150, a static post from $750.
Which tourism boards have you worked with?
Visit Carson City in Nevada, Mesa in Arizona, and Madera County, Temecula and Discover Buellton in California. Each article is linked on this page.
Do you work through PR and marketing agencies?
Yes. All five campaigns on this page were arranged by the destination's PR or marketing agency.
How long does the article stay online?
It stays published. The Buellton, Temecula and Mesa articles from 2022 are still on this site.
Can we use your photos and video on our own channels?
Yes. Photo and video sets made for a partner's own channels come with a 12-month license for social media and print. A sponsored post can be licensed for 12 months for $400, or with no end date for $700.
Where do you travel from?
Los Angeles. Most of my destination work is in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Oregon. I also take campaigns abroad: the Vietnam Airlines trip began with a flight from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh City.
